Amazon is following Meta’s lead by making a $1 million donation to president-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural fund simply at some point after Meta made an equivalent donation.
Amazon confirmed the contribution to a number of retailers on Thursday. Sources instructed the Wall Avenue Journal that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos helped Amazon resolve on the quantity.
“Bezos is donating by way of Amazon,” a supply claimed to the WSJ.
The inaugural fund covers early bills that come up when a brand new president takes workplace. Federal Election Fee information present that Microsoft donated $500,000 to each Trump’s first inauguration in 2017 and President Joe Biden’s in 2021. Amazon did not donate in 2021 however gave about $58,000 in 2017.

Amazon can be making a separate donation along with the $1 million in money: It’ll stream the inauguration by way of Prime Video, a contribution valued at a further $1 million, per the WSJ.

Trump confirmed on Thursday that he’ll meet with Bezos at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Seashore, Florida subsequent week. Bezos joins different tech CEOs like Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, who’ve lately met with Trump there.
